One of the best bits of my job is rolling out a software release that we’re really proud of. Today we’ve done just that.
As you click around our site, you’ll see a lot of changes – a new homepage, better section navigation, clearer article titles and plenty more besides.
Content designer Ben and interaction designer Dave carried out the work. And they built on an exceptionally strong base of user research by Alex. Thank you all.
This work brings us to the end of our beginning, if you like. The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities have funded us twice. First in August 2020 to respond to the challenge of lockdown, then again in February 2021 to build on the good work we started. We’re finishing this funded work on 16 December.
So what’s next? With these strong foundations we can continue to refresh existing ‘How To…’ guides and add new ones. Our user research called for actionable step by step advice, and we intend to deliver lots more of it. Here’s a great example. We’re also looking to involve more councils in our work. There’s so much good practice to share, and the Digital Inclusion Toolkit is a good place to do it. If you’d like to join us, please do get in touch.
