Creating a digital inclusion guide

December 10, 2020 by Croydon Council

Creating digital guides, on subjects such as how to get online and how to use a browser, can be great way to engage with your residents. They are also free to download and can be shared widely.

Subjects to include in your guides

Your guides could cover step by step internet basics such as:

  • connecting to the internet
  • understanding wifi
  • searching the web
  • staying safe online
  • creating social media accounts
  • how to download apps

Technology has never before played such a vital role in human connection, and your guides could help residents confidently use the internet and online tools in their day to day digital activities.

As part of their ongoing commitment to help Croydon residents stay connected, Croydon Council have produced a series of three user friendly guides designed to help them get online.

Really great guides – easy to use with well designed clear illustrations. I deliver digital skills training support to residents in Kingston upon Thames. I could see myself screen sharing some of these diagrams in an online skills training session. The How to Get Internet Access is a good example.
