Roadmap for workforce digital skills, plus what is the outlook for digital skills in the charity sector?

New roadmap for developing workforce digital skills

This new report from FutureDotNow is a detailed analysis of the workforce digital skills gap. It finds that the UK could lose an estimated £145 billion in GDP growth between 2018-2028 due to inadequate digital skills. The roadmap highlights three clear areas for action, from the need for a national government strategy to a call for collective culture change.

The Charity Digital Skills Report 2023

The report provides an annual barometer of charities’ digital skills, attitudes and behaviours. It contains lots of handy statistics for funding bids and business cases to work with third sector organisations. It finds that over three quarters of charities saw digital as a growing priority. But almost half urgently need funds for devices, software and infrastructure.

Low-income families worried about the cost of keeping kids online during school holidays

Seven in ten families on an income of under £15,000 say they will struggle to keep their kids connected over the school holidays. According to the new research by Virgin Media O2, low-income families expect to spend an extra £27 during the period. The National Databank, run by Good Things Foundation, provides free data to tackle the issue.
