Millions of people pay more than they need to for their broadband connection. This guide by Which? shows people how to get the best value from their contract with tips on how to reduce their bills.

Free mobile SIMs

Charities that work in digital inclusion can apply for free Vodafone SIMs, each loaded with 20GB data a month for 6 months, plus unlimited calls and texts. Charities can use these however they like, for example, to provide connectivity to service users or to deliver training to people in need.

The broadband and mobile markets offer customers a wide range of choice, with different deals available to suit different needs. Some providers offer cheaper packages that are only available to customers who receive certain government benefits.

The National Databank

The National Databank provides free data to 500,000 people in need via Good Things Foundation’s network of community partners, in partnership with Virgin Media O2, Vodafone and Three.

Digital Unite have a range of 400+ how-to guides covering a whole host of digital topics. Written by subject matter experts and updated regularly, the guides are perfect for supporting others with digital skills or helping people to improve their your own knowledge. Now also includes a section of specially prepared easy read guides.

Digital skills training for the third sector

The Curve is a series of free, 90-minute workshops for third sector organisations. These online workshops aim to:

  • build knowledge around best digital practices
  • raise awareness of digital tools
  • help increase impact with digital

Workshops are open to anyone working or volunteering with a third sector organisation in the UK.

Scams and fraud prevention

Scams Prevention and Support Service

The Scams Prevention and Support Service, funded by Lloyds Banking Group, helps to prevent older people from falling for scams by increasing their knowledge and confidence to recognise and deal with attempted scams. It also provides support to older fraud victims recovering after an incident.
